Terms of Service

Last updated: September 4, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Career Clarity at careerclarity.ai (the "Service"), operated by Clear Directions ("Clear Directions", "we", "us"). By creating an account, redeeming an access code, purchasing a report, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Career Clarity is a career exploration tool. It combines two self-report assessments, a four-part Career Compass exercise, and an AI-guided process that produces a Career Clarity Report with a small set of career profiles, along with publicly available U.S. labor-market data where an occupation can be matched.

Career Clarity is offered in two ways:

  • Self-guided. You complete the process on your own and receive your report on the site and by email.
  • Coached. You complete the same assessments and Career Compass as part of a coaching engagement with Clear Directions, and your coach uses the results in your sessions.

2. Not professional advice

The Service is for personal exploration and reflection. It is not professional, psychological, financial, legal, or employment advice, and it does not guarantee any job, income, or outcome. Salary and growth figures describe occupations nationally or in a metro area, not any particular job or employer. You are responsible for the decisions you make using the Service.

The assessments in the Service are self-report questionnaires. They are not clinical instruments and do not diagnose any condition.

3. AI-generated content

Parts of the Service are produced by an artificial-intelligence system. The discovery questions, the shortlist of careers, the forced-choice questions, and the career profiles in your report are generated by a large language model (currently Claude, made by Anthropic) working from your assessment results, your Career Compass selections, your intake answers, and your resume if you upload one. A human coach does not review self-guided output before you see it.

AI-generated content can be incomplete, generic, or wrong. Read it with judgment. Where we can, we ground figures in official data and label anything we could not verify as "Unverified" rather than estimating it.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the self-guided Service. Coached clients under 18 may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's consent arranged through Clear Directions.

You sign in with an email link or a supported sign-in provider. Keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account and data at any time from your dashboard; see the Privacy Policy for what that removes.

5. Access codes and purchases

Self-guided access is unlocked with an access code or, when checkout is available, by purchase. Each access code or purchase provides one Career Clarity engagement (one set of assessments, one Career Compass, one report, plus any re-sends of that report). Access codes may carry an expiry date and cannot be transferred or resold.

Prices, when shown, are in U.S. dollars. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Your content

You own the information you provide: your answers, selections, and any resume you upload. You grant Clear Directions a limited license to store and process that content to provide the Service to you, including sending it to the third-party processors described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models.

Only upload content you have the right to share. Do not upload another person's resume or personal information.

7. Your report

Your Career Clarity Report is prepared for you. You may keep it, print it, and share it with people you choose, such as a mentor or an employer. You may not resell it, present it as your own assessment product, or remove the attribution and data notes it contains.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • attempt to access another person's account or data;
  • probe, scan, or overload the Service, or bypass rate limits or access controls;
  • submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • reverse-engineer the assessments, prompts, or scoring, or scrape the site.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, software, and the Career Compass method, belongs to Clear Directions or its licensors. The ONET Interest Profiler and ONET occupational data are provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration and are used under their published licenses; the Open Extended Jungian Type Scales are a public-domain instrument. BLS data is in the public domain. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in the Service beyond personal use.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties for hosting, email delivery, file storage, sign-in, and AI generation. Their availability and conduct are outside our control. Sign-in providers have their own terms that apply to your use of them.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clear Directions disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any result will be accurate or suitable for you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clear Directions will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost income, lost opportunities, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, the limitations apply to the extent permitted.

13. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may change the Service and these Terms. When we make a material change to these Terms, we will update the date above and, for account holders, notify you by email or in the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.

15. Disputes

If you have a problem with the Service, contact us first at meaghan@cleardirections4u.com and we will try to resolve it with you directly. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Clear Directions is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
